Just writing a list of things I’m thankful of on this trip and in my life…
- Brian – what a great friend but also an amazing leader on this trip. Goes from planning the trip, to recruiting, to leading VBS with the energy of a 10 year old, to organizing worship with an entire village, to collaborating with the crew and translators, to hanging out with us , to prepping for the next day.
- Johnny and Severin – it’s been great to have more time than our 2 hours once a week. These guys are great men.
- Our Brazilian team – they cook for us, translate for us, and lead worship. But they are also serving these villages and hanging out with us. They are on the mission as well.
- New friends – always nice meeting new people but when you’re sleeping in hammocks 6 inches from each other, eating together, serving each other, and sweating like crazy together, you get to be good friends quick
- Young people here – there are a small number of teenagers and college students here with their parents. They are serious about what they are doing here: serving. It gives me a glimpse into what kids can be today.
- Rin – she takes such good care of our family and allowing me to take 10 days away to serve on behalf of our family. Maybe she’ll be here in the Amazon on day?
- Kids – I’ve enjoyed texting them from a far.
- My financial supporters – without them I would not be writing this.
- My job – I’ve been able to completely disconnect from work. I’m assuming nothings blown up while I’m away.
